Decorations Policy

  • Permitted Decorations: Feel free to personalize your event! Some decorations require approval, so please check with our team.
  • Restricted Items: To maintain our venue’s elegance, items like balloons, glitter, confetti, sparklers, rice, birdseed, silly string, bubbles, and tinsel are not permitted.
  • Attachment Guidelines: Avoid using tape, wire, or screws on walls, floors, doors, or rental items.
  • Candles: Battery-operated candles are welcome; however, open flames are not allowed.

Entertainment Policy

  • Live Entertainment: We welcome live entertainment! Contracted performers should bring their own sound equipment and are responsible for setup and takedown.
  • Access Times: Entertainers have venue access per the event rental agreement to ensure smooth event flow.

  • Supervision Requirements: Minors under 18 must be supervised throughout the event.
  • Building Security: For added safety, The Cox Building stays locked when unoccupied, with our event coordinator on-site for the setup and event duration.
  • Restricted Areas: Only approved caterers have access to the third-floor kitchen; all other guests and hosts are restricted from this area.

Smoking Policy

  • Non-Smoking Venue: The Cox Building is a non-smoking facility. A designated smoking area is available outside the venue.

  • No Outside Food or Beverages: To comply with local health and liquor laws, all food and beverages must come from an approved, licensed caterer.
  • Alcohol Service: Alcohol may only be served by licensed caterers from our approved list.

Catering Policies and Guidelines

Third-Floor Events: Only full-service catering by an approved caterer is permitted on the third floor.

Second-Floor Events: Drop-off catering is allowed on the second floor, though use of the third-floor kitchen is prohibited.

Cake & Dessert Vendors: Cakes and desserts do not require approved vendors. Coordinate serving or cutting needs with your caterer.
